Hi Carissa :)

This is Marjorie's daughter - Leah, from San Diego :) My mom had shared your blog with me, and I'm the founder of a small online project that shares blogs with readers (and helps newbie bloggers more eyes on their content)

We had a challenge last week - and I chose your blog post here to drop into the challenge for some people to visit. If you see this in the next day or two, would you just let me know which comment spoke to your heart the most? We're having a little event and part of the surprise rewards go to the people who moved the authors the most! hehehe(they don't know that yet! LOL)

thanks so much! and - thank you for sharing your heart and pointing people to the beautiful love of Christ!! :)

There are so many people put there who have gone through hell and have gone through so many hardship without knowing the road home. The road back home is always hard to discover and finding it would be to accept the one who created you. Your creator is your last hope.

Yes, you have gone through a lot but found him. You found that man who led so many people out of bondage. This is what we all wanted in life. We all have so many ways wairy about, but yet saw no one to take us back home. We look left and right, North and South, West and East and yet. No one came to take us to the finest place ever but immediately we turned out lives to the right track, we saw Jesus.

We should all know that he is the only one who can console us in whatever wrong path we are following....

I cannot even begin to imagine or understand what you went through @carissaearly :-(

I do, however, have a few friends who have been through awful experiences and endured horrific sexual assaults, and the trauma that they experienced still sits with me. They have all dealt with the fallout in their own lives in a way that I can only admire - their strength, their ability to endure and live their lives so fully still, is incredible to me. And I see that in you too, through this article.

Growing up in South Africa, as a woman, you learn to be vigilant, hyper-alert (as you put it). You experience personally, you witness or go through with others, so much in the way of violence and aggression... it becomes part of one's life. And as a result, there is an element of PTSD that accompanies you for a very long time. Every time I have travelled back to South Africa I now live in the UK), it has been preceded by nightmares of home invasions, terror, abduction, of being chased relentlessly, threats of all kinds. If people talk about these incidents, I end up dreaming about them. My brain has to process and it links back to known memories and shares with me anew the horrors of the worst side of humanity.

It makes me really happy to know that you have a wonderful man by your side now. That you have a relationship with Christ and that you have allowed a healing space into your life. Thank you for sharing of yourself in this post. I truly believe that writing is cathartic in itself and can reach and help so many more people who have similar experiences. I came to hear of your blog through Dreemport. If you are interested in sharing your blog with a wider audience, take a look at this link and see if you are interested in joining our community. Much love!

The trauma of being sexually assaulted is like a perpetual scar. It won't heal if the world rejects or turn their back on you and I'm glad that didn't happen in your case. You had and still have the right people around you. Family, friends, your loving partner who with their loving, caring and sincere efforts helped you to erase that moment that aims at haunting you. Most importantly, God is by your side and you know He will never forsake you. He expresses His love ❤️ in different ways and guides you through the storm. There is peace in Christ and as I've read your post, I know you've gotten peace of mind, @carissa early. Came in via #dreemport.

I'm so glad you were able to get through it.

The trauma in being assaulted isn't one to be taken as a mere trifle.

Indeed one thing that does help is relationships with other people. People you can trust to not leave you in dark after they've been told, but rather bring you into a fold.

Giving you closure, love and hope. I think those are the best kind of friends..

Friends that can help fix or at least numb your trauma

Almost forgot..😅

I came all the way from Dreemport 🤗...

And quite frankly, I'm glad that I did 😗✨

I felt the depth of it all. And to be honest, I also feel the release of the pain and fear, then the embrace of renewed hope and love for self. I am glad that you have come this far. It is a journey I understand. So I believe that slowly but surely, you'll get to the point of total freedom in body, spirit, and soul.

Oh, I love that song, “haunted and holy”. It was worth the click.

Stay blessed.

I am thrilled that I got here through dreemport.

I could only imagine how the one who has gone through such trauma feels. I've seen and heard of a lot of stories of people who have been forcefully violated and when I try to put myself in their shoes, I just can't bare the trauma of my imagination not to mention the one who has actually been through such.

I'm so glad to see that you could fight through those moments of your life and God did not forsake you and gave you a partner that helped you pass through that phase of your life little by little.

God has been really so good to us and there are times when it will feel like he does not care about is but then, he is God and he knows when to step in to make things right, we just have to keep trusting and believing him to come through for us.

I won't have gotten to read this soul touching and encouraging write up if not for the amazing port #dreemport, I hope and look forward to reading more from you 👍.

I know how much I value my body and I can already feel the trauma I would face if I face this.

I know this because I have had several dreams of being molested and every time I wake up in horror. Gratitude often feels my heart when I discover it was only but a dream

I am sorry for all that you have been through. I am glad you have a partner, your therapist, and your friends/family who help you heal and live in safety.

Of course, most importantly, you have the love of God which is more important than life itself.

I wish you the best going forward and I hope that you will receive complete healing. Amen. ❣️

I came all the way from Dreemport. 🤗

This is so beautifully vulnerable and well expressed (as usual!). You are strong and brave and whole and a beautiful reflection of His grace. I hope one day that we can share tea and conversation one day.
